Description: Classic Narrowboats are based at Barton Turns Marina, which is connected to the Trent and Mersey canal. It is a purpose built marina, with moorings for up to 300 crafts. Places of interest within easy driving distance include Tutbury Castle, the potteries, brewery tours, the Bass museum, the Brewhouse Art Centre, which has a gallery, cinema, bistro and live entertainment. Numerous restaurants and shops are also on hand. The marina is part of a multi-million pound project. A leisure centre and restaurant are planned, however, a well-stocked chandlery is already onsite.

Directions: Nearest Airport: Birmingham (28 MIles) By Road: From Birmingham airport, turn left onto the A45. Join the M42 at Junction 6 (Bickenhill). Exit the M42 at Junction 9 and turn left onto the A38. Take left turn from the A38, following signs for Barton-Under-Needwood. After exiting the A38, turn right at the T-junction, following signs for Barton Turns. After approx. 200 metres take a left turn into Barton Turns Marina entrance. Classic Narrowboats at Barton Turns consists of narrowboats sleeping 4,6 or 8 They have double beds, twin beds and for 6 or 8-berth boats the seating area folds into a double bed or 2 singles. All have a shower room with WC and 6/8-berth boats also have a separate WC. Units have full kitchen with fridge and full oven, TV and video and music centre. This is an activities holiday, only suitable for the able-bodied as your stay will involve operating the British Waterway lock systemCruising is subject to guests accepting compulsory tuition,which is only availableon check-in days and prevailing safety conditions. Check-in between 1400-1600hrs Check-out: 1000hrs. The resort MUST be advised in advance of any late arrivals. Guests will not be allowed to check-in after 1700hrs due to lengthy safety tuition. PLEASE NOTE THERE MUST BE AT LEAST 3 ABLE-BODIED ADULTS IN THE PARTY. Credit card imprint required for refundable deposit or a large cash deposit. Breakages/damage must be paid for in full.
